6 Reasons You Need to Revisit the Watch What Happens Live New Year's Eve Spectacular

This New Year's Eve, you'll want to party like it's 2010.

By Laura Rosenfeld

Once upon a time, there was a truly magical night in Bravo history. Long before Andy Cohen became everyone's favorite New Year's Eve host, the Watch What Happens Live host emceed a two-hour New Year's Eve Spectacular in the Bravo Clubhouse on December 31, 2010.

How to Watch

Tune in to WWHL on Bravo Sunday through Thursday and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

This star-studded night was like an extra-long version of WWHL, welcoming guests NeNe Leakes, Kim Zolciak-Biermann, Lisa Vanderpump, Dina Manzo, Tamra Judge, Jeff Lewis, Jenni Pulos, Sandra Bernhard, and Meghan McCain to the Bravo Clubhouse for a New Year's Eve celebration we would never forget. But if for some reason you need a refresher on this epic event, here are six reasons why it'll still bring a smile to your face this New Year's Eve and all year-round.

1. Jenni Debuted Her New Rap

MC Jenni's New Rap

In addition to being Jeff's executive assistant, Jenni is well-known among Bravo fans as an MC, having written and performed the WWHL theme song. Jenni showed the world her latest rap during the WWHL special, which gave shout-outs to several Bravo series, including The Real Housewives of New York CityTop Chef, and Inside the Actors Studio. We're glad to see that Jenni's rap game is still strong.

2. NeNe and Jeff Were the Shadiest Guests

NeNe and Jeff are never afraid to speak their minds, but the two were in rare form during the WWHL New Year's Eve Spectacular. After Lisa confronted NeNe for supposedly calling The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast members “plastic surgery nightmares,” The Real Housewives of Atlanta actress responded by throwing even more shade. “I have never said anything about you guys because I find you all to be very boring," NeNe told Lisa. Jeff was just as feisty. When Jenni's cocktail wasn't served in a martini glass, Jeff called the event "a tacky affair." He also criticized Jenni and Tamra's holiday gifts to Andy. Luckily, NeNe and Jeff became relatively more pleasant by the time the Champagne toast to 2011 rolled around.

3. Giggy and Grandma Wrinkles Tied the Knot

It was a match made in Bravo Heaven. Two of the network's most beloved Real Housepets made it official when Andy officiated the wedding of Lisa's Pomeranian Giggy and Dina's hairless cat Grandma Wrinkles live on the air. Though the nuptials were quick, they were no less glamorous with Giggy decked out in a tux and sparkly top hat and Grandma Wrinkles wearing a lovely veil and white lace collar. There were even wedding bells and pink rose petals to help set the romantic scene as Giggy licked his bride.

4. A Wig Drop Brought in the New Year

A giant ball may drop in the middle of New York City to signify a new year has begun, but since the Bravo Clubhouse is just a tad smaller than Times Square, the WWHL New Year's Eve Spectacular had to do things on a slightly different scale. When the clock struck midnight on January 1, 2011, audiences witnessed a magnificent Wig Drop to help ring in the new year. We haven't seen a more delightfully over-the-top way to welcome a new year since.

5. Andy and Tamra Shared a Passionate New Year's Kiss

It's customary to share a kiss with someone special when the new year begins. However, Andy and Tamra took this to a whole new level when they smooched at the start of 2011. And it all happened right in front of Tamra's then-boyfriend Eddie Judge. Though it was surprisingly passionate, the kiss didn't seem to do much harm. Andy said "kinda making out with Tamra" was one of the highlights of the night in a blog post published a few days after the show, while Tamra would go on to marry Eddie in 2013.

6. Kim Kicked Off 2011 with a Performance of 'Tardy for the Party'

Don't Be Tardy for the Wig Drop!

There's a superstition that the way you spend New Year's Eve is how you'll spend the rest of the new year. If that's true, then you probably listened to "Tardy for the Party" on repeat since that was the first song heard on Bravo in 2011, thanks to a performance by the RHOA singer herself. Hopefully, you found yourself on time for many parties in 2011, too.

It's not going to be easy to rage as hard as these Bravolebs did in 2010. But if you do end up having the most amazing New Year's Eve ever this year, you're probably going to need the Bravoleb-approved hangover cures, below.
