Here Are VMA Stars... Then and Now

Another year, another VMAs... and another chance for Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine to remind us that he really, really dislikes the show. On Sunday, Adam headed to Twitter to remind us that, yes, he still totally hates anything and everything about the annual MTV awards show. In a series of tweets fired off during the 2017 broadcast, Adam blasted several aspects of the show, including how "utterly horrible" the show was this year.

Adam then stumped pretty hard for VMA newbie, Julia Michaels, who performed during the show but whose performance was cut short to accommodate for a commercial break. His wife, Behati Prinsloo, was also was pretty fired up about the moment.

This is not the first time Adam has expressed frustration with the show. Back in 2011, he also criticized it on social media.

To date, Adam and Maroon 5 have only ever taken home one VMA — for Best New Artist back in 2004. They have, in total, been nominated for five trophies over the course of their careers at the show, most recently in 2015 in the best pop video category for "Sugar."
