Abby Elliott: SNL’s Impersonation Queen

From Angelina Jolie to Khloe Kardashian, the ‘Odd Mom Out’ star always nailed it.

Every Thursday, celebrate #TBT with us as we open the vault to share photos and videos of Bravolebrities before they were famous--or revisit memorable moments from our shows. This week, we’re throwing it back to some of Odd Mom Out star Abby Elliott’s best impersonations on the NBC comedy pillar, Saturday Night Live.

When Bravo’s original scripted half-hour comedy Odd Mom Out premieres in June, one face that viewers may certainly recognize is Abby Elliott’s. Odd Mom Out follows the character Jill Weber, played by Jill Kargman, as she navigates the treacherous and elite ecosystem of New York’s Upper East Side, namely its uber-wealthy mommy clique led by Abby’s character, Brooke. However, Odd Mom Out is hardly Abby’s first foray in comedy.

The daughter of comedian Chris Elliott and granddaughter of radio legend Bob Elliott, Abby could be considered somewhat a comedy prodigy. And, while she’s appeared on hit shows like How I Met Your Mother and Inside Amy Schumer, Abby’s actually best known for her four year stint on SNL. After her SNL departure, Variety heralded that “she came into her own with consistently brilliant impersonations.”

Here’s a look back at a few of her noteworthy moments on the late night NBC romp.

For starters, there’s Abby’s brilliant turn as Khloe Kardashian in "Kardashian Divorce Special":

Or, "Weekend Update Madonna and Angelina Jolie", where Abby played Angelina opposite Kristen Wiig’s Madonna that culminated into a sidesplitting, one-upping back and forth about their respective views on adoption.

How about when she masterfully mocked Zooey Deschanel in the faux talk show, "Bein' Quirky With Zooey Deschanel":

Abby always demonstrated range and versatility when paying homage to political pundit Rachel Maddow. Check out "Roland Burris Cold Open":

And who would we be if we couldn’t also laugh at ourselves? Worlds collided when one of Abby’s most popular sketches (co-starring none other than Tina Fey) playfully poked fun at Pregnant in Heels star Rosie Pope and the entire Bravo network!

All jokes aside, we’re thrilled to welcome Abby to the Bravo family. Watching Abby hilariously hold her own alongside some of the biggest names in comedy instills confidence that she’ll certainly bring the laughs when Odd Mom Out premieres June 8th at 10/9c only on Bravo.
