Aesha Scott Shows Off Her Latest Hair Change That's Made Life So "Much Easier"
The Below Deck Mediterranean chief stew received a treatment that made her hair more manageable.
Aesha Scott admits she’s lazy… when it comes to her hair.
The Below Deck Mediterranean cast member confessed this via Instagram this week after stopping by the Miss Leish hair salon in Papamoa, New Zealand. Aesha posted a selfie of her sitting in a salon chair while her stylist took a blowdryer and brush to her hair.
“Freshen up the best,” she captioned the Story.
Aesha Scott gets a hair refresh: "So much more manageable!"
The chief stew returned to social media hours later to show off the incredible results. And, no, she didn’t get a drastic cut or another dye job. Instead, she received a treatment that aimed to simplify her everyday hair care.
“You see?” she began before mistakenly putting her hair behind her ear. “Look! So much more manageable! I love things that are manageable because I’m very lazy. I’m never ever going to be that girl that gets up and styles her hair in the morning. So now that I’ve done this, I don’t have to. I just wake up and it’s sleek, it’s done, whatever.”
She also provided a bit of clarification about her “lazy” comment, insisting she was “lazy with hair, not with life. I would die if I got associated with lazy.”
What hair treatment did Aesha Scott receive?
Aesha confirmed she “got chemical hair straightening,” aka a hair relaxer.
“NOT to be confused with the keratin treatment,” she said. “For me, that just makes it silky for a few weeks but I want permanent taming.”
Unlike keratin treatments, chemical straightening can completely smooth out hair texture by breaking down its disulfide bonds. This means the hair will be permanently straight until new hair is grown, whereas keratin treatments only straighten curly or frizzy hair for two to six months, depending on several factors, like hair type and maintenance routines.
Aesha Scott says her latest hair change was "worth it"
The New Zealand native said there were a few restrictions that came with the treatment but they were all temporary.
“So for three days after you get it done, you’ve got to have it just hanging like this,” she said while showing off her hair. “You can’t get it wet, you can’t put it behind your ears, you can’t tie it up. That part is a bit annoying but it’s worth it for how much easier it makes your life. And then, after that, you just go about your business.”
