Andy recalls asking Oprah if she's "ever taken a dip in the lady pond"

“This was a huge moment for me and for the show,” Andy said ahead of the WWHL 15th anniversary special. “I’m such a fan of Oprah.”

Toward the end of the Oprah episode, Andy decided to ask the media mogul a classic Clubhouse question: “Have you ever taken a dip in the lady pond? … Have you ever been with a lady?”

“No, I have not. No,” Oprah flatly responded. “Thank you.”

Oprah Fulfills Andy's Dream

Andy shed more light on the viral moment during his chat with ET

“OK, that’s probably one of my few regrets,” he said. “I mean, it meant so much to me that Oprah Winfrey did the show and we were running out of time and… we’re about to end the show. It’s gone brilliantly and I turn around and ask her if she’s ever had sex with a woman. I mean, couldn’t I leave it alone?”

Andy said Oprah didn’t seem offended by the inquiry, as the vibes remained pleasant after filming wrapped.

“No, she was cool,” Andy said. “It was not awkward after the show. She was super cool.”

Oprah reportedly had no idea what "lady pond" meant

Days after the interview, Andy discussed the cheeky question with Gayle King who revealed that good friend Oprah was not familiar with the “lady pond” term.

“I thought I explained it pretty well there,” Andy told ET. “But listen, I was so grateful that Oprah did the show and I still am, and that remains, I think, my favorite episode.
