Andy Cohen Wasn't So Sure About This Housewife Joining RHOBH at First
But The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member definitely changed his mind.
There's never a dull moment with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The 90210 squad has brought the perfect combination of fun, glamour, and, of course, drama in Season 9.
However, Andy Cohen, who serves as an executive producer of The Real Housewives, wasn't so sure about one new addition to the show: Lisa Rinna. According to a recent profile of Lisa in the Los Angeles Times, Andy "was wary of hiring a recognizable actress, feeling it would change the vibe of the show." But, the article noted that he "now considers Rinna one of the best additions to the franchise." Like, duh.
“She’s fun to watch,” Andy told the L.A. Times. “She’s funny and she makes fun of herself. She understands her place in the world, and she’s very secure with herself. I just think she’s entertaining.”
Lisa's husband, Harry Hamlin, was also famously not so keen on her joining RHOBH back in Season 5. “I actually told her— because I’ve been married a couple of times before — that I had my divorce lawyer’s number on my phone,” he told the outlet.
But as we all know from seeing him support his wife on RHOBH, Harry also eventually came around, telling the L.A. Times that he has no regrets about Lisa becoming a part of the series.
One reason Lisa wanted to join RHOBH in the first place was for the opportunities being a part of a show like this would bring, and the experience has definitely lived up to her expectations. “It’s been great,” Lisa told the L.A. Times. “I’ve been able to get deals through my social media platforms and get extra income in that area. I don’t even know where to begin. All kinds of things are constantly coming.”
We can't wait to see how Lisa will wow us next.
We'll catch up more with Lisa and the rest of the RHOBH crew when the Season 9 reunion kicks off Tuesday at 9/8c. Get a taste of the drama to come, below.
