Andy Cohen Says His Son, Ben Cohen, Gave Himself a "Crazy Haircut"
The WWHL host opened up about his "long week" as a single dad to two young kids.
Even Andy Cohen experiences ups and downs in parenting. As a dad to his two children — 5-year-old son, Benjamin Allen Cohen, and 2-year-old daughter, Lucy Eve Cohen — every now and then things can go awry. Although the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host has had to deal with some wild moments with Bravolebs and celebs over the eayrs, they do not hold a candle to Lucy and Ben. In fact, Ben recently gave himself an unexpected haircut.
Andy appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark on Wednesday, Jan. 22, where he recounted Ben's surprising encounter with kid scissors. "I woke up, I think it was Monday morning — it's been a long week already. And he had found his little kid scissors, which we had hidden away from him," Andy recalled to host and BFF, Kelly Ripa, according to People. "I said, 'Oh great, cut away, here's some paper.' I go in my room, he goes in his room. He says, 'How do you like my new hairstyle?'"
Andy did not know what happened at first. "Now, I thought he put gel in his hair, this is how dumb I am," he continued. "He did a crazy haircut. All of a sudden I see a pile of hair in the corner."
However, Andy was able to come up with a quick fix. "But he has now gotten a buzz cut. And everyone is going so crazy and he's getting so much attention that now I'm worried he's going to do it again," Andy concluded.
Andy Cohen shares an update on daughter, Lucy Cohen
Although Ben is still learning how to use his scissors, Andy is teaching Lucy about emotions and kindness and including her stuffed animals in the lessons. Andy took to his Instagram account on Jan. 21, where he posted a video where he's teaching her a lesson using her stuffed Daisy Duck and Minnie Mouse toys. "Daisy's so mean," Lucy said in the video.
"No, Daisy's not mean, OK?" Andy replied. "Daisy's nice. You know what? Daisy knows what she wants, OK? Just because Daisy knows what she wants doesn't mean that she's mean. She knows what she wants. And Minnie's so nice too. But I just want to teach you that just because you know what you want, doesn't mean you're mean, OK?"
Andy wrote in the caption of the post: "Attempting to turn this Daisy-logue into a teachable moment. Who knows if it worked."
Several Bravolebrities took to the comments where they gushed over his parenting. "The girl dad! Love this so much!" Southern Charm's Leva Bonaparte wrote. "Just because she knows what she wants doesn't mean she is mean! More dads need to tell their daughters that."
But Below Deck alum, Kate Chastain, had some other ideas for scenarios with Daisy and Minnie. "Why was my first thought 'Someone should use Minnie and Daisy to do a reenactment of the Kyle [Richards] and Dorit [Kemsley's] The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills screaming match scene.'"
