It wouldn't be The Real Housewives of Dallas without friendship drama, and things definitely got intense between D'Andra Simmons and Kary Brittingham in Season 5. Their conflict came to a head during the ladies' day out at a wine tasting and was still strained during the girls' trip to Lake Austin.

D'Andra and Kary seemed to get their friendship back on track. Even though the group confronting Kary about her behavior in the RHOD Season 5 finale threatened to derail the besties once again, their emotional heart to heart at Southfork Ranch showed hope for a bright future for D'Andra and Kary. "That moment with @karybrittingham was raw, real, and much needed," D'Andra tweeted as the RHOD Season 5 finale aired on April 27. "It felt good to let our emotions out!"

However, after filming this season of RHOD, Kary expressed uncertainty over where she and D'Andra go from here. During an interview with ET in March, Kary said that they could just have a "superficial friendship" if that's how D'Andra wanted to move forward. "I hope we can really move past that and hopefully be good friends, but two people have to want it, have to work at it," Kary told ET. "Friendships and close relationships are not easy."

D'Andra responded to Kary's comments when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on April 27. "I think that, Kary, if that's what she wants with me, that's OK," D'Andra said in the above clip. "I have tried to be a good friend to her, but Kary and I do friendship in different ways. We've had many conversations like that. And I don't know if I could ever meet her standards as a friend."

D'Andra added that no matter what the state of their friendship is, she will always be there to support Kary. "But I do have great concern for Kary and wish her the best and want her to be happy and loved and well. That's all I want for her. So, I will be there for her," she shared. "And I said at [the] reunion. I will be there for you no matter what you're going through, and I will always be that person. I may not do it like Stephanie [Hollman, who appeared on WWHL with D'Andra], but I'll do it the best I can."

She also gave an update on the vintage Louis Vuitton heels and Oscar de la Renta belt she was wearing when Kary pushed her in the pool at the end of the murder mystery night in the Season 5 finale. D'Andra stuck her tongue out and put her thumb down to describe the state of her accessories before confirming that they are in "not good" condition these days.

This season of RHOD also followed D'Andra's attempt to reconnect with her brother and stepmother. The Season 5 finale ended with an update on D'Andra's relationship with her estranged family members today. "D'Andra and her stepmother have not kept in touch," the text update on the screen read. "Her brother still refuses to have a sit-down with her… But she still sits down with her shaman twice a week."

D'Andra shared on WWHL that she has "unfortunately" not spoken with her brother since meeting with her stepmom this season of RHOD. "So my nephew's first birthday will be this summer, and I'm going to reach out and continue to try," she said. "That's all you can do is continue to try to reach out and tell them you love them and you want to be a part of their lives. And as long as you're making the effort, I think that's the most important thing."

She also said that she has not heard from her stepmom since the April 20 episode of RHOD aired, which chronicled their meeting. "No, I actually sent an email to her around Easter because I knew it was gonna be the baby's [D'Andra's nephew] first Easter, and I wanted to talk about Easter Bunny and how they were gonna do that, and she didn't respond," D'Andra said. "So, hopefully, one day there'll be healing. I just hope for that and continue to work on myself."
