Malia White and Tom Checketts Reunite in London

After confirming that her relationship had been long distance during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: @ Home on August 10, Malia White finally reunited with boyfriend Tom Checketts in person over the weekend.

The Below Deck Mediterranean couple recently got in "a very brief trip to London," according to a post Tom shared on Instagram on September 13. The post featured several photos of the pair in Tom's home country and showed them getting into several activities during their visit, including bowling, sightseeing, and wearing face masks while out in public.

Tom previously shared how challenging it has been to be away from Malia as they both work in different parts of the world. "Missing the amazing @maliakpwhite so much," Tom captioned a series of photos of the couple on Instagram on July 21. "It’s tough being apart so it’s lucky that absence makes the heart grow fonder!"

Having a long distance relationship is nothing new for Malia and Tom as they lived and worked in different parts of the globe at the start of this season of Below Deck Med. But when The Wellington crew was in need of a chef after Hindrigo "Kiko" Lorran's departure earlier in Season 5 and Malia's yacht chef boyfriend Tom visited her in Mallorca, Spain, Captain Sandy Yawn asked if he would stay and step into the galley to help the crew out, to which he agreed.

However, Tom joining The Wellington crew wasn't exactly a dream come true for Malia. In fact, it was the exact opposite, she explained in the Below Deck Mediterranean Season 5 After Show.

"Tom coming on board as chef was like a nightmare. On a selfish level, I wanted this to be about me becoming bosun, and I think Tom coming on board, it's now Malia and Tom. We're like a team," Malia explained in the below clip. "That's a whole 'nother dynamic you have to worry about."

Having experienced her own relationship drama in her first season of Below Deck Med, Season 2, Malia also said that she was wary of having her personal life be on the boat like that again. "It's obviously no secret that I've had relationships on the show before, and I know how it can be kind of really intense and can impact things," Malia shared in the After Show. "You know, obviously my fear is how it could affect our relationship because I love Below Deck, but it's not worth my relationship — not with him, not with this one."

Malia opened up about the future of her relationship with Tom during her appearance on WWHL: @ Home in August (clip above), sharing that she's "not a huge fan of marriage." “But yeah, I want to be with him as long as I can," Malia said.
