Ashley Darby Reflects on Michael Missing Her Call: "My Heart Was Literally in my Stomach"

The Real Housewives of Potomac ladies kicked off their trip to Portugal on the November 8 episode, and although the vacation has so far been full of plenty of poncha-fueled fun, there was one incredibly stressful moment for Ashley Darby. The proud mom opened up about the reason her heart was “literally in my stomach” during the RHOP After Show.

At the beginning of the trip, Ashley was unable to get in touch with her husband, Michael Darby, to get an update on how their son, Dean, was doing before bedtime. The missed phone calls left Ashley visibly shaken, but when asked to look back and reflect on how she was feeling in that moment, she was at a loss for words that could accurately describe her thought process. 

“I feel like we need a dictionary for moms because some of the words that exist don’t fully encapsulate the feelings that you have. To say that I felt anguish, and I was feeling nervous and… it was like, my heart was literally in my stomach when I couldn’t get in touch with Michael and know how Dean was doing,” she explained. 

Ashley went on to explain that in that moment of uncertainty, Dean was her “primary focus,” but she did also open up about any potential concern she may have had regarding Michael’s behavior.
