Who Knew?! Barack Obama Makes a Very Good Santa Claus
The 44th POTUS forgot his reindeer, but he brought plenty of Christmas cheer to children in Washington.
Barack Obama is feeling the holiday spirit. The 44th POTUS paid a visit to the Boys & Girls Club in Washington, D.C. earlier this month, and he did his best Santa impression by wearing a red cap. Instead of going full-on Santa, Obama rounded out his festive look with a leather jacket and khaki pants. (Apparently, the former president couldn't find velvety, cherry-red pants in his size.) But, he didn't skimp on the presents.
A short video from The Obama Foundation shows the former president unloading red and green bags from the back of his sleigh — er, car. "We are at the Boys & Girls Club, and in line with the holiday spirit, we thought we'd bring a few toys for the kids," Obama explained.
After all, as Obama later said, he had heard that the kids were very good this year. And the ones who were naughty, well, they were just a little naughty.
When Obama entered the center, alas, the kids had not left out cookies for him. But, he was met with the most heartwarming cheers from the excited children. Watch the kids' jubilant reaction, below:
In the end, Obama said to his followers: "I hope you guys are doing something wonderful in your communities that brings us all together. At a time when people are feeling stressed sometimes, and anxious about the future, doing something good for somebody will make you feel better."
