We Have a Major Update on Hannah Ferrier and Kiko Lorran's Friendship
The Below Deck Med chief stew reveals where she stands with the chef after his Season 5 departure.
The Wellington crew was sad to see Hindrigo "Kiko" Lorran leave the charter season in the August 3 episode of Below Deck Mediterranean, and none more so than Hannah Ferrier, who seemed to form an especially close bond with the chef.
In fact, Hannah was the last person to bid Kiko a fond farewell before he officially exited the charter season. The two shared a heartwarming moment as they hugged and kissed each other goodbye on the dock (clip above). "I just want to say I know we know each other for a short time, but you're definitely gonna be a friend forever," Kiko told Hannah. "I love you."
Hannah also told Kiko that she didn't want him "to go," and she invited him to visit her in Australia.
The Below Deck Med chief stew opened up more about Kiko's departure on Twitter as the episode aired on August 3, telling one fan that she is "lucky to have met him." She said in another tweet, "I just wanted him to stay so badly and I felt awful about that dinner."
Hannah also said that it was difficult to relive the episode as it aired. "This episode is [heartbreaking] for me to watch. I understand work is work but we are still human beings at the end of the day and sometimes you can’t keep it [separate]," she tweeted. "I am forever grateful I met Kiko and can call him my friend."
Kiko opened up about his instant connection with Hannah during a recent interview with Decider. "Hannah, since I met her, I just felt something that I usually feel with my best friends. Just from the moment I said hi," he shared. "Since I met her, our conversations were nice. We laugh, we make jokes. Just good. She’s a good person. I like her. We’re still friends after the show."
Hannah responded to Kiko's comments on Twitter sharing, "It was very mutual. He’s a very special human."
Following his departure from The Wellington, Kiko did some globetrotting with his girlfriend, Nicole, even paying a visit to Las Vegas, where he had notably never been before he prepared that Sin City-inspired dinner that led to his firing this season. When The Daily Dish spoke to him prior to the August 3 episode of Below Deck Med airing, Kiko was in Martinique in the Caribbean getting ready for charter on a catamaran set to sail around the world.
Hannah confirmed on Twitter that Kiko is "doing amazingly well" these days. "He’s so happy sailing the world with his gorgeous girlfriend and hopefully coming to Sydney to meet the baby in January!!!" she gushed.
