Things Got Even Spicier for Delaney Evans and David Pascoe Than We Realized
The Below Deck Med stew addresses those DMs to the deckhand and the rest of the crew.
Delaney Evans officially exited the Below Deck Mediterranean crew in the September 20 episode — but not before getting to experience some time off with the yachties, Lady Michelle style. This included a wild night in the yacht's hot tub (during which David Pascoe experienced a sudden fall), a day out on the Med to enjoy some water toys, and a stunning trip to see the falls at Krka National Park.
In an exclusive interview with Bravo Insider earlier this month, Delaney shared that these were really the first moments she got to know her crewmates since the stew had to get right to work on the new charter that had begun shortly after she boarded the Lady Michelle. "I noticed this moment that the first night out, I kinda, like, looked at the boys and I was like, 'I haven’t had a conversation with you guys yet,'" Delaney recalled. "Once we did have that night out, I think it was just, like, a fun crew with a lot of big personalities. Very lively. Just a lot of really cool individuals."
David had especially seemed to make a connection with Delaney, expressing a fondness for the stew following her arrival on the boat and getting a little (OK, a lot) flirty with her in the hot tub. "It's either gonna happen, or it's not. I'm definitely taking the shot," David said in an interview on Below Deck Med (clip below). "Guest cabin's looking pretty good right now."
Delaney said that she was picking up on some of what David was putting down during her time on the Lady Michelle. "I definitely felt like David had moments of, like, quasi-flirting with me. I think he was a very sweet individual, so I didn’t know how to take it if he was just being sweet to me, if he was sweet to everyone, or if he was actually, like, intentionally being sweet just towards me," she told Bravo Insider. "But yeah, I mean, he's a sweet guy. He let me borrow his jacket when we went to Krka Falls."
David actually did end up making a move, according to Delaney. "I don’t wanna call him out, but I do wanna call him out ‘cause it was kinda funny. I definitely did get a message from him the last night I was there at, like, two in the morning," Delaney revealed. "Definitely sent me the 'u up?' text. And I was definitely not up."
Flirting was about as far as things were gonna go between Delaney and David, the stew said. "I mean, I definitely think I’m a very, like, playful individual, and that can come off as flirting sometimes. And, you know, I definitely think that he was a sweet guy. I like the attention, and I was gonna, hopefully, give him some positive attention back," Delaney said. "But was I gunning for David? Not quite."
The chance of anything happening with Delaney seemed to be dashed for David when she left the Below Deck Med crew. However, there appeared to be a glimmer of hope when the deckhand received a DM from Delaney after her departure. "Check this message I got from Delaney saying, 'It was epic to meet you, and I wish you an amazing rest of season,'" David told crewmates Malia White, Mzi Dempers, and Lloyd Spencer.
That was quickly followed by the soul-crushing realization that Delaney had sent the exact same message to Mzi and Lloyd. "I know, that was so funny. I didn’t think twice when I was copying and [pasting]," Delaney said of her DMs to the crew while speaking with Bravo Insider. "Honestly, I think I was so busy doing other stuff at the time, whether it was packing up to get my flight, or whatever it was at the time. I don’t quite remember."
"But I think it was one of those things where it’s like, I did genuinely [mean] what I said. The fact that it’s copy and pasted didn’t take away from that value in my mind," she continued. "But it was kinda funny that that’s what, like, came up, and they all read it at the same time."
As for reconnecting with David in the future, Delaney agreed that she would "never say never." "I don’t know. He has my Instagram. He can hit me up [laughs]," she said. "I’m an opportunist. If guys wanna shoot their shot, I’m all for it."
In fact, most of Delaney's interactions with the Below Deck Med crew have been through social media since she left the Lady Michelle this season. "Yeah, I mean, I’ve had, like, a little bit of back-and-forth on Instagram with David and a little bit with Mat [Shea]. Not much. I told the girls, like, 'Oh my god, that photo’s so pretty,' a few times, but we really haven’t talked too much," she shared. "I think, you know, I was only there for five days, and it’s really hard to become best friends with somebody in five days. And given the situation, I think I just didn’t really develop those relationships as deeply as the rest of the crew members had with each other. So, no, I don’t really keep in contact with them."
Still, you'll often see Delaney and her Lady Michelle crewmates send each other love on Instagram these days. "I wish everyone the best, and, you know, I comment on their stuff every once in a while," Delaney said. "And it sounds like everyone’s crushing it for the most part, so I’m really stoked that, you know, everyone’s doing what they want to do in their lives right now."
