Colin MacRae Confirms He Has a New Girlfriend: "[Cat's] Outa the Bag!"

Colin MacRae has a new special someone in his life.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht's chief engineer made the major relationship announcement in a post on Instagram on January 23, sharing the first official photo of himself and girlfriend Silvia Latini. "Everyone meet [Silvia]. She’s my girlfriend. Been almost a year now but we chose to keep it private. But we announced it on YouTube today," Colin wrote. "[Cat's] outa the bag!"

The post featured several photos of Colin and Silvia, as well as his adorable dogs, tagged in Linton Bay Marina in Panama, where the chief engineer has been based while getting his catamaran, Parlay, ready to sail around the world.

Colin and Silvia got a lot of love from the Below Deck Sailing Yacht family in the comments of the Instagram post, including Captain Glenn Shephard, Sydney Zaruba, and Dani Soares, all of whom expressed their warmest wishes for the couple.

As Colin mentioned in his Instagram post, he also confirmed his new relationship in his most recent video on YouTube, which showed him comforting Silvia as she prepared to fly back home to Italy for a family emergency. "I wish to be here to enjoy this moment," Silvia said in the video. "I've been living on Parlay for nine months, 10 months, so actually, Parlay's my home."

Colin and Silvia then shared a sweet kiss in the clip. "Oh my god, is that our first kiss on camera?" Colin exclaimed. "Oh yeah, Silvia's my girlfriend [laughs]. We've been together for a long time. We just decided to keep our relationship a little bit private. That happened!"

In Season 2 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Colin had been dating girlfriend Martina, who consoled the chief engineer over the phone following the passing of his dog, Marty, while he was away on charter. Colin later confirmed on Instagram in April 2021 that he and Martina had "decided to go our separate ways."

"It was an extremely eventful year, with the boat breaking, getting struck by lightning, a pandemic, lost a dog, and me doing a reality TV show, and I will always have amazing memories of how she supported me and loved me throughout all of this," Colin said, adding that he and Martina had "chosen to be quite private about all the details" and noting that he does "explain things in quite a deep manner" in a video on his YouTube channel. "As I say in the episode 'Don’t be sad that it’s over, be happy that it happened' would be an accurate description of how grateful I am to have been with this amazing woman."

We'll catch up more with Colin in Season 3 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, which premieres with a supersized episode on Monday, February 21 at 8/7c — and it sounds like the chief engineer is as here for all the crew conflict as the rest of us. "I do enjoy a little drama here and there," the chief engineer says in the above trailer for Season 3. "It keeps me entertained."
