Did Captain Lee Step Away from the Season 10 Charter Season for Good?

After Monday's episode of Below Deckviewers may be asking themselves if the Season 10 charter season is sailing on without Captain Lee Rosbach following the final moments of the episode.

How to Watch

Watch Below Deck on Peacock and the Bravo App.

The series O.G. announced his departure on the Monday, December 12 episode, citing health problems — more specifically, a nerve issue that had begun to affect his ability to walk — as the reason for his decision. As the captain put it in a confessional, "My injury is getting worse. The left side of my body, I don't feel anything."

Still recovering from back surgery that he underwent before filming for Season 10 began, Captain Lee added, "I expected a lot more progress than I'm experiencing and the most frustrating part about it is I can't do a goddamn thing about it."

That's not to say the captain didn't try his hardest, though. He attempted to use both a cane and crutches to get around the yacht, but at the end of the day, he knew he couldn't continue to rely on his crew for so much. "One of my biggest problems now is I'm not able to observe," Captain Lee explained. "I don't know who's doing what, it's my job."

"I owe it to my crew to do right by them," he continued. "They expect that out of me. There comes a point if a captain is really being objective, he should be putting the best interests of his crew first."

So, Captain Lee made his decision and informed the yachties. "As you guys know, I've been struggling with my mobility," he began, "and it's been hard and I've let you guys down and for that I apologize. So I've made a decision to leave the boat."

There's no telling what comes next, but fans can rest assured that Captain Lee is currently doing well, as he took to Twitter on November 22 and responded to a fan concerned with his health, writing, "I'm doing well, thanks for asking, appreciate you."

He gave another update on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on November 28, explaining that while he had previously hit "a few rough patches," he's recently been "hitting the gym every day" and is "back on track."

Fans will get to see what happens next for Captain Lee in next week's all-new episode of Below Deck, airing on December 19. It's to be continued and there is much more to come this season!
