Here’s What Captain Sandy Shared with Captain Lee During Their Below Deck FaceTime
Plus, Captain Lee shared an update on his health and revealed his plans to return to St. David.
When Captain Lee Rosbach made the difficult decision to temporarily step away from St. David to focus on his health on Below Deck Season 10, he entrusted the yacht (and his crew!) to Captain Sandy Yawn.
He told People that he had put the Below Deck Mediterranean cast member in a “very difficult situation” because she had to “[take] over somebody else’s boat and somebody else’s crew.”
That “difficult situation” included handling a complicated dynamic between stews Alissa Humber and Camille Lamb. After giving Camille a few chances and urging her to “reset,” Captain Sandy ultimately fired the interior crew member at the end of the January 16 episode.
On the following episode, Captain Sandy decided to FaceTime Captain Lee to give him an update on his “tornado” of a crew.
“I’m running Captain Lee’s boat, but it’s his boat, it’s his crew. And so I want to keep him apprised of what’s happening on board,” Captain Sandy explained in an interview about why she wanted to give him a call.
Keeping the Stud of the Sea up to date meant sharing the news that she had decided to fire Camille. “I let go of Camille,” Captain Sandy said during their FaceTime.
While Captain Lee thought it was because Camille was “in a tough spot” as the only deck-stew, Captain Sandy said she “gave her one department” and a schedule in the end.
“It’s not that. It’s personality conflict[s],” Captain Sandy said. “That girl has a mouth on her.”
Once Captain Sandy delivered the “unfortunate” news about Camille’s dismissal, Captain Lee shared an update of his own. When Captain Sandy pointed out that the Below Deck OG “look[ed] a lot better,” he revealed that he was starting to “feel a lot better.”
Before they said goodbye to each other, the Be the Calm or Be the Storm author asked Captain Lee the million-dollar question: Is he planning to return to the yacht anytime soon?
“I’m working towards it,” Captain Lee teased. “I can’t thank you enough for stepping in for me. I really appreciate it.”
