Ben Robinson Has a Cheeky Message for His Below Deck Mediterranean Haters
The chef explains his fiery behavior in the galley in Season 4 on Watch What Happens Live.
It hasn't been smooth sailing for Ben Robinson so far this season of Below Deck Mediterranean. The already difficult challenge of cooking every meal for all of the charter guests and the entire crew has been intensified by a dark and cluttered galley whose equipment isn't always firing on all cylinders, so much so that Ben described the kitchen as "cursed" and "slightly hellish" in the Below Deck Mediterranean Season 4 After Show, which you can check out, above. "I'm pissed off even thinking about it," Ben said in the clip.
Ben wasn't shy about his annoyance with his workspace right from the start of his return to Below Deck Med this season. However, that's nothing compared to how we've seen the chef lose his temper in past seasons of the show. "I know that, yes, there are signs of frustration, but I've been livid before in other seasons," Ben told The Daily Dish during an interview in New York City on Monday. "So, I mean, I think I'm better, to be honest, because I've had yelling matches with people and stuff, particularly Kate Chastain is one of them."
In fact, Ben said that it would be weird if he didn't get so worked up about everything that has gone wrong so far this season. "But yeah, it was very frustrating. It's incredibly frustrating. When I arrived on the boat, I think I had about an hour to cook for all of the guests and all of the crew. It was just, it was overwhelming. And then not to mention some of the equipment that wasn't working. So obviously that's incredibly frustrating," he explained. "And I'm not going to apologize for being frustrated. If I wasn't frustrated, I think I'd probably have just had a lobotomy or something."
Ben further clarified his behavior this season during his appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Monday night. "I think that it was a tough situation going into, obviously for me. You know, I was picking up a dirty galley, very dysfunctional. It wasn't working," he said. "And there were signs of frustration, but I don't think there's anyone in the world that would have not been frustrated with that situation."
Ben then had a message for the haters in the form of two fingers. You can guess which ones, or just see it for yourself in the video, below.
The drama in the galley continues in an all-new episode of Below Deck Med Monday at 9/8c. Watch a preview, below.
