Billy Eichner's American Horror Story Casting Left His BFF Julie Klausner "Turned On"
The Difficult People star is hoping to get a call from Ryan Murphy next.
There's a new dude set to be initiated into Ryan Murphy's wacky and creepy American Horror Story universe. Last month it was confirmed that Billy Eichner was cast in a recurring role for AHS Season 7, which will take a closer look at the 2016 presidential election. He'll join AHS regulars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. The news of his casting may have come as a bit of surprise to fans of the funnyman, but it certainly left his Difficult People co-star Julie Klausner quite thrilled.
We wanted to know just how excited Julie was for her BFF following his big news, so we asked her at the Hulu Upfront Presentation on Wednesday. "[I was] turned on. Erotically confused," she joked to The Daily Dish. "I'm a big fan of Ryan Murphy. I'm still recovering from the Feud finale. I thought it was so brilliant. And it's exciting to be adjacent to any show that has good roles for people from the LGBTQ community, for people of color, for women who are over 22. I really respect Ryan's mission for that. And so it's exciting to have any kind of involvement with those shows. They're good shows."
Now that Julie has a source on the inside, we'd imagine that she might be texting Billy on the regular to get some scoop on the top-secret upcoming season. "At the same time," she said, "I kind of don't want to know. I like that it's its own kind of web of secrecy, so I'm happy to be surprised. And then there's also so many other Ryan Murphy things that I want to have the scoop on."
Like, what? "The next American Crime Story... When is the Lewinsky thing coming out?" Julie said. "When am I gonna be asked to play Patsy Ramsey, or the astronaut woman who put on diapers and drove down to Florida? Yes, these are all great ideas for me."
