Bob Harper Reflects On His Life-Changing Health Scare: "I Technically Died"
The fitness guru also shared who has shown him the most support from The Biggest Loser during #WWHL.
Bob Harper made headlines recently after he suffered from a heart attack in February that later left in a medically induced coma for two days. In an ironic twist, The Biggest Loser star's frightening health scare took place after a workout while he was still at the gym. Following the ordeal, he spoke a bit about the event on TODAY, noting, "I had what they call a 'widow- maker.' It was a 6 percent survival rate, and the fact that there were doctors in the gym when I had the heart attack saved my life."
He later received two stents to keep his coronary arteries open and help to reduce reduce the risk of a future heart attack. With the health scare behind him, Bob was in good spirits when he appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Tuesday night, during which he revealed just how intense the heart attack was. "I technically died. There was a piece of paper from the doctors that said 'Cause of death: cardiac arrest,'" he shared. "And it's a wake up call."
Andy Cohen gave his buddy a hug during Tuesday's show — and it turns out he isn't the only person happy to see the trainer in better health. "Howard Stern [reached out to me]. That was a big one. Him and [his wife] Beth, they reached out to me after I had my heart attack and then Howard sent me a video of naked men doing yoga," Bob said. And then Beth was like, 'You're going to give him another heart attack.'"
But, Andy really wanted to know if everyone from The Biggest Loser have also offered their support to Bob. "I heard from almost everyone. Almost everyone," Bob said. And without naming names, Andy seemed to know who didn't show their love. "Oh, I guess I don't have to guess who you didn't hear from."
