Bobby Giancola Explains Why Fort Lauderdale Is a Yachtie's Dream
This Florida city is where it's at, according to the #BelowDeckMed yachtie.
There are some big changes coming Bobby Giancola's way. Not only is the Below Deck Mediterranean deckhand making a career move, leaving his job as a firefighter to become a yachtie full time, but he's also physically moving with plans of relocating to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, he previously revealed to The Daily Dish.
That also seems like a smart move on Bobby's part, considering the fact that Fort Lauderdale has a major yachting scene. Both Below Deck's Captain Lee Rosbach and Chef Ben Robinson call the coastal city home, after all.
So when The Daily Dish caught up with Bobby, we just had to ask what makes Fort Lauderdale the place all yachties want to be. "It's very success-driven, inspirational. The scenery is amazing," he told The Daily Dish. "Just yachts everywhere. 'Oh, I want to work on that one. Oh, I want to work on that one.' So now I just can't wait to get down there and try it out."
It's easy to see why Fort Lauderdale is yachtie paradise.
But Bobby has already spent plenty of time in Fort Lauderdale, and while there, you can usually find him hanging out with many other fellow yachties, including one you already know. "I go down to Fort Lauderdale all the time now, and I hang out with Bryan [Kattenburg] still, and he introduced me to some other yachties that I became really good friends with, so I'll go down and see them as well," he said. "We'll just have a good time. We'll go on yachts that other yachties are working on and hang out and get to meet captains and stuff like that. So just networking and having a good time."
Is there room for us to climb aboard?
Of course, yachting isn't all fun and games, which we'll definitely see during Tuesday night's new episode of Below Deck Med airing at 9/8c. See the tears to come, below.
