Bravolebrities Tweet Support for Jason Collins

Hey, we know stuff about sports!

By Megan Johnson

Bravolebrities are coming out in full force in support of Jason Collins, the Washington Wizards basketball player who just became the first member of a major American sports team to come out as gay. Collins revealed his sexuality on Monday in a much-talked-about Sports Illustrated cover story. And since then, the Twitter love has been non-stop, particularly from Bravo stars. Here’s a few of our favorites:

Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen busted out the Yiddish for a little congratulation to Collins, and even tweeted a video of the previous night’s WWHL guests, Don Cheadle and Kareem Abdul Jabbar, discussing the possibility of having a gay man in the NBA.

In the video, Andy asks Kareem if he thinks that there will ever been a gay NBA star. Kareem answered “I think there probably already has been.” He also added that he thinks there will be an “out” gay man in the NBA someday. Pretty fitting that Collins came out the next day! Here’s the video:

Kathy Griffin, always a supporter of the gay and lesbian community, gave a shout out to Jason for his bravery in revealing his sexuality.

Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles star Madison Hildebrand tweeted the Sports Illustrated article, and added his own sentiments, calling Collins “strong.”

And last but certainly not least, Tabatha Takes Over queen bee Tabatha Coffey also shared the momentous Sports Illustrated piece, calling it an “amazing article.”

That’s a whole lotta love from the Bravo family!
