Brock Davies Explains Why Scheana Shay Is Worthy of an Emmy Nod
The Vanderpump Rules husband praised his wife’s handling of the Season 10 drama.
Brock Davies says he was quite impressed by Scheana Shay’s handling of the Vanderpump Rules Season 10 drama — so much so, he believes his wife is worthy of a big-time accolade.
“Over the last four years, I have seen her grow into this Emmy-nominated reality star because she has slowly but surely found her voice,” Brock recently told the Messenger. “She has found her confidence.”
Brock went on to highlight a key moment in the Vanderpump Rules Season 10 finale when Scheana confronted Tom Sandoval about his infidelity involving their castmate Raquel Leviss. The former SURver broke down during the exchange and questioned how Tom could betray her good friend Ariana Madix, whom he had dated for nearly 10 years.
“In the peak of all this devastation and drama, she was able to — better than anyone else — handle a conversation with Sandoval and get the message across to him clearly,” Brock continued. “It resonated with everybody.”
Brock Is Proud of Scheana’s Personal Growth
The Homebody Live Fitness founder said many viewers were also pleased with Scheana’s reactions and her overall conduct during the scandal.
“Previously, they wished Scheana had spoken up or stuck up for herself and said how she felt instead of being like, ‘It’s OK. They’re just having a bad day,’” he explained. “We are very proud of the woman she has grown up to be, and this is the first time we’ve seen her say ‘This is wrong’ and ‘No.’”
Lisa Vanderpump Is Hopeful for an Emmy Nomination
Vanderpump Rules has never received an Emmy Award nomination; however, the Variety team predicts it will secure a nod for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program. Cast member and series executive producer Lisa Vanderpump spoke about the potential nomination during NBCUniversal’s FYC House event on May 23.
“I don’t know why it means so much to me, but it does because so much goes into this,” Lisa told Gold Derby about the possible honor. “You know, the whole production. It’s not just about the cast, it’s about the crew, it’s about the production, it’s about post-[production]… It’s just been such an endless journey. And there’s been so much commitment over the years. And I don’t think we’ve ever shied away from anything.”
She continued: “I think authenticity is absolutely the key, to me, for good reality television. It has to be authentic, you know? Because I think the audience is smart. They can smell bullsh-t, and you know, we’re pretty much straight down the line. We tell it how it is.”
