It's been many moons and many seasons since The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Kyle Richards and Camille Grammer faced off back in Season 1 during a heated get-together in NYC (clip above). These days, the two 90210 moms are definitely friends, and not frenemies. “We had a rough start in our friendship, but we forgave each other. We said our peace years ago," Camille recently told PEOPLE about those early days.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Peacock and the Bravo App.

Since that night out in the Big Apple, Camille has been through a lot — including cancer, as well as a contentious split from ex-husband Kelsey Grammer. “She saw me at my worst. She watched me go through hell and come out the other side. And she’s been there for me through everything," Camille, who has since remarried just weeks ago, noted. “We have a mutual respect and an understanding. She’s a great mom and a dear friend and she’s been incredibly supportive.”

Back in 2016, Kyle reflected on those early bumps in an interview with The Daily Dish, noting, "I think we didn't know each other in the beginning, when we had that argument. Just getting to know each other better [has helped]. I think that all the women, even though we clash at times, there's a camaraderie between us and there's a sisterhood."

Kyle, who has even been quick to make a joke about that era in their friendship, added this about her pal at the time: "We just have the best time together. I love Camille and every time we're together we laugh, we have so much fun. We laugh about all the problems we used to have and how much we hated each other before. Hate is a strong word. I don't hate anybody, but we didn't like each other at all. But we can tease each other about that. We just had a lot of fun."
