Captain Lee Rosbach Once Hooked up with a Crew Member?!?!
The Below Deck boss' story is shocking and sweet all at the same time.
The question at the beginning of every season of Below Deck is never if the crew members will hook up with each other but when. But there's one yachtie we never expect to see getting a little flirty: why Captain Lee Rosbach, of course, who's been married to wife Mary Anne for 44 years.
So when one fan asked Captain Lee if he had ever hooked up with a crew member or charter guest during his 30-plus years in yachting on Monday's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, we thought for sure he would say "absolutely not." But, boy, were we wrong. "With a crew member, yes," Captain Lee told the caller, causing us to question everything we thought we knew about the Below Deck boss.
But then Captain Lee clarified that he was actually talking about his wife Mary Anne, and we promptly breathed the biggest sigh of relief ever. "She was my chief stew. And the only one," Captain Lee said, confirming his wife was the only crew member he's ever been romantically involved with.
Unfortunately, that ring on Captain Lee's finger doesn't stop charter guests from getting a little flirty with him, as Kate Chastain confirmed on WWHL. He's not called the Stud of the Sea for nothing, after all.
You may think that a life at sea would cause some waves in a marriage, but Captain Lee said on WWHL in 2017 that being away from his wife for long periods of time has actually strengthened their relationship. "Actually, I think that is one of the keys to our relationship being successful is the fact that we spend extended periods away from each other," he said. "And the old adage 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' is true.'"
Mary Anne has clearly been supportive of Captain Lee's dream of sailing to success in the yachting industry. She even appeared on Below Deck in Season 5 and provided confirmation that these two will be our favorite yachtie couple forever and always.
