After Mila Kolomeitseva made homophobic comments on the way to the Below Deck Mediterranean crew's first night out, the news of her remarks soon made its way to all of the Sirocco yachties in Monday night's episode. Though the crew members disagreed with Mila and denounced her comments, none of them reported the incident to Captain Sandy Yawn.

But Hannah Ferrier said during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Monday night that she doesn't believe Captain Sandy would have let Mila go if she had been made aware of her homophobic statements at the time (clip above). "I've actually worked with Captain Sandy for three seasons, and she, I believe would kind of go that's your personal opinion, and what you do with your work and what you provide to guests is that," Hannah explained. "I don't think she would have actually fired Mila for her views."

Captain Sandy did eventually hear about what Mila said during the charter season. "I heard it through chatter. Like, the crew don't run to me and say, 'Did you hear what happened?!' They're not like that. They basically keep it [to themselves]," she told TooFab of learning about the chef's remarks during an interview earlier this month. "But someone mentioned it, and I just thought, 'Wow.'"

And, in fact, Captain Sandy's reaction to Mila's homophobic comments is similar to how Hannah imagined she would have handled the situation. "So that's her opinion. That doesn't reflect [me]. She can have her opinion. I don't really care. Doesn't reflect on me. It reflects on her," Captain Sandy, who went public with her relationship with Leah Shafer in May, said during her interview with TooFab. "So when people take it personal, they should probably look at themselves and not point the finger at the person who said it. Doesn't bother me! That's her thing she has to deal with. Not mine."

Many members of the Below Deck Med crew had much stronger reactions to Mila's words during Monday night's episode as they condemned her comments. But they mostly fought hate with love by showing their support for the LGBTQ+ community on social media after Mila's remarks appeared on the show.
