Dr. Contessa Had a “Horrible” Mishap on Below Deck Sailing Yacht That Didn’t Air
Married to Medicine's Dr. Contessa Metcalfe dished on an unseen moment from her time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5.
During the Season 5 premiere of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Married to Medicine's Dr. Contessa Metcalfe made a star appearance as co-primary charter guest for the first charter of the season but behind the scenes, things weren't exactly ship-shape during her trip.
As Contessa revealed in an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish, she had "a bit of a situation" onboard. "My luggage did not come," she said. "It was horrible, [but] everybody was so sweet."
Basically, while Dr. Contessa's entire group made it through their layover, her luggage didn't.
So, to remedy this, she borrowed some clothes and shopped around at some "cutesy little shops close to the pier" to build her vacation wardrobe.
The new Season 5 crew also came in clutch. "Everybody was so nice. They even offered to go out in town and go shopping for me," Contessa shared. "I just have to just sing the praises of everybody."
Chief stew Daisy Kelliher got a special shoutout, too. Why? Because she loaned Contessa her very own skirt. "Daisy was great," the doctor noted. "It was amazing."
Dr. Contessa Metcalfe's experience on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5
All in all, Contessa said her and trip was a blast. "We just had so much fun. Everybody was just so awesome. We didn't want to get off the ship," she recalled.
"We love to travel in style, so this was absolutely amazing. I've always wanted to go to Ibiza, and I had this belief in my heart that I was kind of approaching the age of being too old to go, so it was nice to kind of be able to do it in an elegant fashion, so to speak," Contessa continued. "Because when we go on vacation, we believe in really letting your hair down."
Because the doctor and her friends live such "buttoned-up" lives at home, they like to let loose on vacation.
"The idea of going to the biggest party place in the world ... I've always wanted to go, but almost felt like I was missing my opportunity. So when this came about, it was like, 'Oh, we've got to do it.' And then to be able to do it on a yacht — a huge sailboat — that's just icing on the cake," she concluded. "And being catered to every moment of every day, it was just an exquisite experience from the moment we stepped on the yacht. It was just luxury, from the beginning to the end."
