Below Deck Med's Alex Radcliffe Reveals If There Was Romance with Jessica More the First Time They Worked Together

Here's what happened during the yachties' last job before Below Deck Med Season 5.

By Laura Rosenfeld

Captain Sandy Yawn, Hannah Ferrier, and Malia White weren't the only Below Deck Mediterranean crew members who had worked together before the current Season 5 of the show. When Jessica More climbed aboard The Wellington at the start of the charter season, she was pleasantly surprised to recognize someone on the boat — deckhand Alex Radcliffe, with whom she had worked on her last boat about two months prior to the start of this season of Below Deck Med.

In the Season 5 premiere, both Jessica and Alex shared that they had become close friends during that first job together. "We had like a good, little family unit going on," Jessica said, while Alex noted in an interview during the episode, "Jessica is my girl. She's an older sister, a wingwoman, and yeah, I mean, f--k, she's a good time to go out with."

Jessica and Alex sure do seem close, and especially considering how much romance goes on below deck, one has to wonder if any sparks flew between these two yachties during their first time working together.

One fan asked just that during Alex's appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: @ Home on July 6, asking the deckhand why nothing romantic transpired between him and Jessica and if he had feelings for her that just weren't reciprocated (clip above).

"We were tight. We have two similar personalities but completely different," Alex explained, confirming that there was never any romance between them during their previous gig. "I think we're 10 years apart, and she's like a big sister."

Alex definitely seemed to bust Jessica's chops as only a sibling could while revealing her reputation as a stew on the last boat they worked on during the WWHL: @ Home After Show (clip below). He recalled that she seemed "goofy" and that she did not have "a lot of understanding of what's going on cleaning the boat."
