Kim Kardashian's Naked-in-Glitter Look Seems Familiar and the Internet Is Calling Her Out
Did the Keeping Up with the Kardashians beauty mogul copy an idea from Beyoncé?
Pop quiz: What does one wear when one is a budding beauty mogul who has to announce the forthcoming launch of highlighters and glosses? If you guessed nothing besides loads of glitter, you're either very, very wise — or, you caught a glimpse of Kim Kardashian's latest look for KKW Beauty.
The whole naked-but-wearing-glitter move certainly made a splash, but it also managed to stir up a bit of controversy — and not just because of the whole nudity thing. Instead, some are claiming that Kardashian stole the whole sparkling idea from Beyoncé.
To review, Queen Bey posed for Flaunt magazine back in 2013, and wore nothing but body glitter on her famous curves.
Looks familiar, right? The image was gorgeous, of course, and it just might have inspired other tastemakers in the years to come. Ahem:
Social media users were quick to point out the similarity in the two jaw-dropping photos.
But Kardashian is not backing down from her style statement. In fact, the reality star doubled down on November 29, and took to Instagram to post more snaps from the controversial (yet oh-so-sparkly) KKW Beauty shoot.
And, the Selfish author didn't even stoop to address the rumors. Instead, her all-business caption reminded fans that the new collection launches on December 1.
And, just for good measure, Kardashian tossed in a behind-the-scenes snap that showcased more of the sexy look.
We can't say whether Kardashian was truly inspired by the Lemonade singer or not. But, if admiring Beyoncé's style is a crime, then it's safe to say we're all guilty of the same.
