Considering all of the drama leading up to Kristen Doute’s dismissal, it wasn’t a huge surprise when the Vanderpump Rules star was fired from SUR after seven years at the West Hollywood hot spot. But quitting Twitter, her primary and most immediate platform? Now that’s shocking.
"Taking a twitter break for a bit, babes," Kristen tweeted Thursday. Using a little positivity to combat the social media hate she’s had to endure, she added, "Wishing everyone love and laughs on your dark days. Sending good vibes your way."
Fans lashed out at Kristen online after she seemingly became obsessed with exposing ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval's alleged infidelity on the show. On Valentine's Day, the drama was clearly getting to Kristen, who tweeted, "I wish for all of you a sense of humor and a light heart for 2015, you're more stressed about our summer than we were."
Kristen recently admitted to E! News that she overstayed her welcome at SUR, saying she "should have quit a long time ago so it didn't get to the place that it did." Kristen said she's keeping busy with a new T-shirt and a vegetarian lifestyle blog. She also said that, in the end, former boss Lisa Vanderpump did her a favor by giving her the boot.
"It's nice to put my energy into positive things rather than going into SUR and dealing with all that negative energy. So really, I have to thank Lisa."
UPDATE: She's back! On February 20, Kristen Doute broke her silence and returned to Twitter, where she expounded upon Beyonce and Jay-Z and shared pics of her and boyfriend James Kennedy hiking. So how long did her social media hiatus last? One day.
