Dorit Kemsley is opening up about what happened when her son, Jagger Kemsley, was in the hospital in October.

How to Watch

Throughout the month, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member and her estranged husband, Paul "PK" Kemsley, had been sharing updates on their son after he was hospitalized with an illness (but is now doing so much better).

In an interview with Us Weekly on Nov. 11, Dorit revealed that Jagger had been in the hospital for emergency surgery for a septic hip. "He had two hip surgeries in under a week. Emergency surgery," she explained. "This little guy has been through a lot, but he's incredible."

Dorit told the publication that there had been "a little bit of misdiagnosing" Jagger's condition before he needed surgery. So, by the time they arrived in the emergency room, his condition "already had progressed."

"I had about 10 minutes from when they told me he was going to emergency surgery to when they wheeled him away," she explained.

Once the 10-year-old boy emerged from the "very traumatic" and "very frightening" surgery, he had a few other setbacks.

"Seeing him not walking for a month and him being in the hospital for two weeks and then coming out in a wheelchair to a walker, to limping, to walking and soon to be running — kids, they're very resilient," Dorit said. "They bounce back."

Dorit Kemsley says Jagger Kemsley is "doing so much better"

But, after going through the surgery and leaving the hospital, Dorit told the publication that Jagger is on the up and up. "I'm very, very happy to say that he's doing so much better," she said.

"Thank God, he's doing really, really well," she added. "So I'm happy."

PK took to Instagram on Oct. 18 where he posted a photo of Jagger leaving the hospital in a wheelchair throwing his thumbs up in the air in good spirits. "Jagger V the virus....and the winner, by clear knockout...Jagger Kemsley," he wrote in the caption of the post.

Dorit Kemsley was able to celebrate Halloween with her kids

Thanks to Jagger's quick recovery, the family of four was able to celebrate Halloween together in a matching costume inspired by The Flintstones. Dorit took to her Instagram feed on Nov. 1, where she posted photos of their super fun costume and expressed her appreciation for her son's doctors, who led him to getting healthier.

"Luckily, this incredibly brave, courageous little boy is a fighter (like Rocky, as he would say) and we were able to enjoy Halloween like he desperately wanted to," she wrote in the caption of the post. "This made Halloween extra special for all of us."

Dorit elaborated on this exciting celebration to Us Weekly. "When Jagger was in the hospital and we didn't know what was going on, really, I didn't know if there was going to be a Halloween," she explained. "And so, for us to have been able to do it and get dressed and me be able to take them trick-or-treating, it was everything. So I'm happy."
