Dr. Contessa Metcalfe Celebrates Her Latest Achievement with Husband Scott: “What an Honor”
The Married to Medicine doctor couldn’t help but get emotional over this "full circle" moment.
Dr. Contessa Metcalfe just received the honor of a lifetime. The Married to Medicine cast member was recently invited back to her alma mater, Saint Louis University, to deliver the commencement speech at the university’s School of Medicine.
On May 21, Contessa took to Instagram to share a video capturing the special moment, also opening up how meaningful it was for her to participate in the event. “StartedFromTheBottom.... then this happened. I graduated from @slu_official med school in 2004 and I’m back on the stage 17 years later to give the #commencementspeech walking with the Vice President and Deans of the medical school,” she wrote in the caption.
“It’s crazy I was a graduate now I’m on the stage giving words of encouragement to the future doctors of the world! Thanks for the honor!” she concluded, also adding hashtags that read “grateful” and “full circle.”
The post was flooded with congratulations from her fellow Married to Medicine castmates. “So proud of you!!!!” Dr. Jackie Walters wrote in the comments, while Dr. Simone Whitmore added, “I know you did an amazing job!!! Congratulations!!!"
Contessa’s husband, Dr. Scott Metcalfe, also took to his own Instagram to commemorate the occasion. The proud spouse shared a video of Contessa holding up her cap and gown while standing in front of the university.
“Question ‘hey wife what are we doing this evening? Her answer ‘Not much, I’m just delivering the commencement speech to the medical school graduates at St. Louis University!,” he wrote in the caption, also adding, “What an Honor!!! Congratulations @drcontessa.”
