Eboni K. Williams Shares a Joyful Update on the Search for Her Biological Dad
The RHONY cast member opened up about her journey during Season 13.
Eboni K. Williams' rookie season on The Real Housewives of New York City has taken viewers along on her emotional journey to find her biological dad. It's been a process for Eboni — and it's taken some twists that culminated in an interesting moment in last week's episode of RHONY.
As seen in the August 17 episode, Eboni learned from the genetic investigator she hired, Linda, that there were three brothers who could possibly be her biological dad. In fact, Linda was "almost certain" that one of those men is Eboni's dad.
Linda also shared that all the contenders were alive, and she even had one candidate that she thought could be Eboni's dad based on different info about his life, like his date of birth. She confirmed that this man is married with two daughters. "I don't even think I was prepared for this," Eboni shared in the episode after being moved to tears.
Linda also showed Eboni a picture of the man. "I do see the resemblance," Eboni said. "He's cute. He's an attractive man."
In an interview featured in the episode, Eboni noted that this news was "extremely wonderful" and the "best-case scenario."
During a recent appearance on Bravo's Chat Room, Eboni offered an update on where things stand these days after learning that news. "I know who my father is. I've been able to speak to him. I've been able to get the DNA test and confirm that this man is my father," she said. "Ladies, I can't tell you what it means after 37 years of life to know."
When asked why she waited so long to find her dad, Eboni noted that, in part, she "was afraid of rejection" as a "Type A personality [and] overachiever." But then when the pandemic happened, she knew it was the time to "be vulnerable and be brave" to do it.
Eboni confirmed that she and her dad have yet to meet in person due to the pandemic, but they have been talking on the phone. She also shared that she's connected with her half-sisters and that "they are queens; they are incredible." And, she added, despite only recently meeting her siblings and not having grown up together, they share a lot of similarities and the "genetics are so powerful."
