Eddie Redmayne Really Doesn't Get Why You Hate Anne Hathaway
The Les Misérables actor opens up about his controversial former co-star on WWHL.
Anne Hathaway may be the star of some of your favorite movies (The Devil Wears Prada and The Princess Diaries, to name a couple), but when it comes to her real-life persona, many TV goers tend to really dislike the Oscar-winning actress for some reason. However, Eddie Redmayne, who co-starred with her in Les Misérables, doesn't understand where all that ire comes from.
"I dont know because I think she's formidable, and I think she was kind of extraordinary in that film," he shared on Watch What Happens Live. (She was. After all, she did win an Academy Award for it.) "It's an amazing thing when we were making Les Mis, because we would doing it live, and it was the first time that any of us had done it that one person would go and sing live for the first time and then come and sort of report back and how it had gone. And she basically educated the rest of us on how to do it."
In addition to dishing about working with Anne, he also shut down a long-standing rumor that he dated Taylor Swift, who had auditioned for a part in the flick. "I absolutely can put the rumors to rest. I never went out on a date with Taylor Swift although I met Taylor Swift. She auditioned for Les Misérables and she was amazing in the audition. We got to sing together which was a big moment for me, but no we never went out," he said, adding that "she was extraordinary" in the audition.
