Emily Simpson Clears up a Major Misconception About Her Husband Shane Simpson

Emily Simpson's husband, Shane Simpson, hasn't exactly laid low during his wife's inaugural season of The Real Housewives of Orange County. In fact, he's ruffled some feathers among the OC Housewives and raised eyebrows among fans.

But according to Emily, her husband is just misunderstood. "A lot of people have a misconception about Shane. You only see a very brief segment about him," Emily said during Monday night's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen after Shane actually called in to the show (clip above). "I've been married to him for 10 years. He's the best damn father you will ever meet. We have five kids. He never misses a ballet performance, he takes them to school in the morning, he makes lunches, he changes diapers. He is the best dad, and he is a family man. He is committed to me and our family, so give him a break, guys!"

When Shane called in to the Clubhouse, Andy Cohen asked him if he feels like he's gotten a bad rap this season of RHOC. "I feel like I get a bad rap just in general in life," Shane joked.

Whether you love to love Shane or love to hate him, one thing is for sure: Fans can't get enough of the RHOC husband. "I was most surprised by how so many episodes revolved around my husband. I really thought he would just be in the background the whole season," Emily said during the WWHL After Show when asked about the most surprising part of her first season of RHOC. "He gets recognized more than I do. He takes selfies all the time."
