Erika Girardi Says Husband Tom "Wasn't Able to Come" See Her in Chicago

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member opened up about her Broadway debut during the reunion.

Erika Girardi's dreams came true when she made her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago in January. Unfortunately, one of the people she wanted to see in the audience the most never got the chance to see her take the stage.

Erika revealed during Part 3 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 10 reunion, which aired on September 16, that her run in Chicago came to an end before her husband, Tom Girardi, could see her perform when Broadway was shut down on March 12 amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

"Well, you know, Tom wasn't able to come to the show," Erika explained during the reunion. "He was gonna come the last week and COVID happened, so he never saw the show."

However, Tom was incredibly happy for Erika and proud of his wife every step of the way on her road to Broadway, as we saw this season of RHOBH. "You have to understand something, Tom is like the biggest Broadway fan ever. So when I came home and I was like 'Honey, I have this opportunity,' and he was like, 'You must take it,'" Erika told The Daily Dish prior to the start of her Chicago run in January. "So he's probably more excited than I am."

Still, plenty of notable people got to see Erika take the stage, including Andy Cohen, Janet Jackson, and Marc Jacobs. Several of Erika's fellow Beverly Hills Housewives also got to see her in Chicago, as we saw in the RHOBH Season 10 finale. "The women showed up, and they didn't have to. Dorit [Kemsley] came from Mexico. Everybody else, you know, we were long finished shooting, and everyone left their lives and their families and traveled to New York," Erika said during the reunion. "You guys, you've been on this journey with me, it sounds so corny, but it's really true, and from the heart, thank you for showing up."

Eriks previously reflected on her shorter-than-expected time in Chicago during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 10 After Show, which you can view, above. "I was just really grateful for my time with Chicago. Those are some really, really wonderful people, very hard-working, very talented performers. I can't say enough good things about them," Erika shared. "And I still speak to them from time to time, and we've kept in touch during quarantine as much as possible. And I miss them, and I miss the show. I miss the experience. I miss everything about it. I will carry that for the rest of my life."

However, Erika isn't ruling out one day reprising her role as Roxie. "I just pray for Broadway's return," she said in the After Show. "If they called me up and asked me, 'Do you want to come back and pick up where you left off for Roxie,' I'd be like, 'Of course.' I'd probably think about it for, like, two seconds."
