Erika Jayne Compares Alexis & John's Public Relationship to Her Marriage with Tom: "Call Me..."
RHOBH's Erika Jayne admitted that "it's hard" to maintain a relationship in the public eye.
Erika Jayne is weighing in on Alexis Bellino and John Janssen's recent engagement.
ICYMI, The Real Housewives of Orange County friend got engaged to her boyfriend of nine months, who is also Shannon Storms Beador's ex, on August 29.
During an appearance on the August 30 episode of the Two Ts in a Pod podcast, Erika reacted to the engagement, noting that it is difficult for couples to put their relationships out there in the public eye.
"Any relationship is hard. Put it in the public. Put it on a reality TV show. Put it surrounded by all of this controversy or criticism. Good luck, because that’s going to be hard," The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member said to host Teddi Mellencamp. "And if it fails, there are going to be a lot of people cheerleading. It's too much too soon."
Elsewhere in the podcast episode, Erika reacted to Alexis writing in one particular Instagram caption that "every moment together has been a gift" with John.
"I bet she does feel wonderful and all of that, and God bless you, but this sh-t changes. And it changes on a dime, and when it does, it sucks," Erika continued on the podcast. "That's why I'm much more reserved."
She then made a comparison to her own marriage to Tom Girardi, which came to an end in 2020 (though the two have yet to finalize their divorce). "Marriage is a test, I'm looking at 23 years and it ain't going so good," she said. "So, if you want to f-ck around and find out, call me."
Erika Jayne reveals if she would get married again
While appearing on a different episode of Two Ts in a Pod, Erika shared that she is not interested in walking down the aisle again.
"I don't feel that that's where I'm at," she said.
Instead, Erika wants to focus on herself at the moment.
"I have a lot of work to do and I really just want to be successful on my own. I have, for the first time, my own thing," she continued on the podcast. "For real, for real. And being a grown-up, you know? Like this isn't being 20 and being married to your husband and having a child...this is Erika out on her own doing it, and it feels good."
