Amrit Kapai Shares an Update on His Career: “Beyond Grateful”

Amrit Kapai is celebrating another huge accomplishment in life. Last weekend, the Family Karma cast member was honored with the Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award.

On January 24, Amrit took to Instagram to share the achievement by captioning his post, “So honored to announce that I am being presented with the [Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award] this year!” He continued, “I am beyond grateful for the HRC and everything it has done for the LGBTQ+ community. Representation and visibility in the media absolutely save lives.

Many Bravolebs filled Amrit’s comments with lots of love: Monica Vaswani wrote, “So proud of you,” while Eboni K. Williams commented, “So deserving! Congratulations Amrit.”

Amrit even shared a clip of his acceptance speech from the LGBTQ+ event, which was held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. “Here I am today embracing, respecting, and celebrating every ounce of who I am,” he told the crowd in the video.

The lawyer also left his peers with some words of encouragement. “So, I implore all of my LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters… continue to march confidently and beautifully towards the life you always imagined, because you deserve all of it.”

Last month, Family Karma was nominated in the Outstanding Reality Program category for the 34th Annual GLAAD Media Awards“Beyond thrilled to hear that [Family Karma] has been nominated for a GLAAD Media Award for the second year in [a] row! Let’s bring home the [award]!” he wrote on Instagram. “Thank you [GLADD] for everything you do for the LGBTQ+ community. Representation absolutely matters.”
