After first revealing that he’s “given up alcohol” earlier this year, Fredrik Eklund is sharing an update on his sobriety journey. The Million Dollar Listing New York agent took to Instagram to open about how he’s feeling after entering this “new chapter” of his life.

On March 25, Fredrik revealed that he’s been sober for over five months now. “Today marks 160 days sober and it feels amazing,” he wrote alongside a glowing selfie.
“The basic stuff is that I have more energy and clarity, look and feel younger, sleep better with less stress and no anxiety. My body is singing, not aching.”

The dad of two went on to share more details about what ultimately prompted his decision to quit drinking. “I was a high-functional addict as many of us are, and it took me a while to realize and admit that,” he wrote. “I’m a work in progress, still. The decision to stop wasn’t easy. But once I really decided, it was actually freeing. The pressure was off in a way. The pressure of not being honest.”

Having celebrated this latest milestone, Fredrik says he’s looking forward to what the future will bring. ““I guess a new chapter is starting for me now. Life 2.0 – a life that’s bigger than alcohol,” he concluded. “I’m excited to see where it brings me. Thank u all for supporting me.

Fredrik previously opened up about his new sober lifestyle in early January. “Its true what they say: it’s not easy but totally worth it,” he wrote at the time, also adding, “This morning I started 2021 in the most beautiful sunrise with a clear mind and body. And hopefully every morning for the rest of my life, a life that’s more rewarding without it.”
