Gael Cameron Slams Joe Bradley Over Love Triangle Drama: "I'm Losing Respect"
The Below Deck Mediterranean deckhand has strong feelings about the complicated dynamic between Joe, Elena Dubaich, and Bri Muller.
Throughout Season 9 of Below Deck Mediterranean, viewers have witnessed an intense love triangle develop between three of mega-yacht Mustique's crew members: Elena "Ellie" Dubaich, Bri Muller, and Joe Bradley. Now, their coworkers are officially taking note of the situation ... and chiming in.
In the above preview for Episode 12 — which is set to air Monday, August 19 — Gael Cameron speaks up about the situation at large. Her commentary comes after she watches Joe explain to Nathan Gallagher why he decided to turn down a date with Ellie ... after initially saying yes. Eating chips in the corner, Gael makes her stance on the situation known with facial expressions before heading into Ellie's bunk to chat.
"You alright?" Gael asks Ellie.
"Yeah," responds the second stew. "I'm numb to everything at this point. It's like the first time I've invited somebody on a date and he just shuts me down. [ ... ] I'm like, bro. We're just having a drink and talking. It's not that serious."
Having watched the entire situation unfold from the outside, Gael has a take.
"Joe is being a little bit of a dick," she says in a confessional. "He is choosing what he wants when he wants it without considering how it affects the girls. It's just not nice anymore, so I'm losing respect for Joe in that sense."
Why Joe Bradley turned down Elena Dubaich's date proposal
At the beginning of the clip, Joe talks to Ellie about the date she asked him on. He says he'd rather not go after all, citing "too much pressure" as the reason.
"I've never been asked on a date before. This I think is like really serious and I'm just flapping out if I'm honest," he says. "For me, I don't want anything serious and stuff like that. Dating for me is like, up there, and I'm not ready."
While a bit taken aback, Ellie is responsive to his worries, noting that she also doesn't want anything serious and just thought they could get to know each other.
In a confessional, she shares her confusion. "He liked me enough to make out with me a few days ago, but now you don't like me enough to get to know me as a person and talk to me?" she says before joking, "I can understand why some spiders eat their mate after mating."
