Gail Simmons Hits the Catwalk & Sneaks in a Culinary Reference

The #TopChef judge has a model moment at #NYFW.

By Jocelyn Vena

Gail Simmons left her Top Chef judging duties behind for one night when she hit the catwalk for the annual #GoRed For Women Fashion Show to benefit the American Heart Association on Thursday. Gail stunned at the New York Fashion Week event in a custom-made gown designed by Nicole Miller. And she personalized the look by adding red butterfly tattoos up her arm for an added bit of whimsy.

Gail hits the runway for the annual #GoRed For Women Fashion Show.

Gail was just one of the stars enlisted for the show. Other models included ballerina Misty Copeland, Fran Drescher, Debbie Gibson, Vanna White, Olivia Culpo, Candace Cameron Bure, Monica, and Today co-anchor Tamron Hall. "I had the best time last night at the American Heart Association GO Red for Women Fashion Show!" Gail told The Daily Dish about the event. "Backstage was a total chaos — press, models, stylists, dressers, glam teams, and so much nervous energy. It was incredible to see all these strong, beautiful women walk the runway and come together for such a great cause. I had butterflies in my stomach the whole time (so much so that I put a temp tattoo on my arm of red butterflies in honor of the occasion)! I was proud to be part of such a positive event with so many inspiring women!" Each woman strutted down the catwalk to a song especially chosen for them. "My song was 'Hungry Heart' by Bruce Springsteen," Gail added. "Get it? Hungry as a food reference, and Heart for American Heart Association. Ha!"

Next week, it's back to Top Chef for Gail. Check out a preview of what's to come, below.
