Garcelle Beauvais Recalls Sending an Email to Her Then-Husband's Co-Workers About His Infidelity

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills newcomer opens up about her divorce from Mike Nilon.

As Garcelle Beauvais began a new chapter in a gorgeous new home in the April 22 episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she recalled how much she has gone through to get to this point, especially in her love life.

How to Watch

Garcelle shared in an interview during the episode that she was ready for a change following her divorce from talent agent Mike Nilon after almost nine years of marriage. "I just feel like the same energy of when I was married, and I want to switch it up," she said.

The RHOBH newcomer then opened up about how she thought she and Mike, with whom she shares 11-year-old twin boys Jax and Jaid, would be together forever. "We were sort of like the Hollywood couple. I'm an actress, he's an agent. We would go to fabulous parties, we've got these two beautiful boys," Garcelle said in the above clip. "Mike was reliable. He was sweet. I really thought this was my last stop."

But then everything changed. "And then one day nine years ago, I said, 'Hey, Mike, can I use your phone?' And so I look at the phone, and I see a text that says, 'I love you.' I go, 'Hey, what's this?' And his face changed," Garcelle shared. "And he said, 'I've been having an affair.' And I said, 'How long?' And he said, 'Five years.'"

Garcelle said that her personal issues quickly became public. "I'm a hothead," she said. "So that night I wrote an email to friends and colleagues at Mike's work, and the subject was, 'What does Tiger Woods, Jesse James, and Mike Nilon have in common?' And that email got leaked to the press."

Garcelle reflected on her past marital woes while giving her friend and fellow actress Ali Landry a tour of her new abode, agreeing that she is ultimately grateful for everything that she went through. "I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, but I know who I am," she said. "I know how much I've grown."

As far as what happened to the woman her then-husband was having an affair with, Garcelle said she doesn't know and has never been interested in finding out. "I have no idea what happened. I was devastated, so I didn't care what happened to her," she explained. "My priority was taking care of my children, and now I feel like it's my time."

Garcelle also told Ali that she is still "a romantic" and that she "would love to be sharing" her new home with someone.

Garcelle went public with her relationship with screenwriter Michael Elliot in December 2019, but by February, she confirmed on Instagram that she was single again. She told The Daily Dish earlier this month that she's still hopeful she will one day find that special someone. "I’m definitely looking for my person. I’m a romantic person. I believe in love, and so I’m looking for the one and I’m hoping, you know, Brad Pitt’s gonna show up one of these days," Garcelle said with a laugh.

Though the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has made it more challenging to date, Garcelle said that hasn't stopped men from sliding into her DMs. "I did get a couple of DMs where people are like, 'Can I be your quarantine bae?'" Garcelle said. "And I’m like, hell no!"
