Gigi Hadid's flowing blonde mane was put into temporary retirement when the stunning Real Housewives of Beverly Hillsdaughter debuted a much shorter 'do on the American Music Awards red carpet Sunday night. The model was on hand to present alongside Kylie Jenner, and as if her very sexy white get-up wasn't enough of a showstopper, Gigi's new hairstyle definitely stole the show — and reminded us of mama Yolanda Foster's recent decision to chop of her locks.
Um, twins much? However, while Yolanda really did cut her hair, Gigi's look was more of a fake-out. "Gigi really wanted to do something fun and different, the dress had a high neckline and a lot of interest in the front so we knew it needed to be something sleek," her stylist Bryce Scarlett toldElleof the temporary look. "Gigi had the idea of doing a faux bob and I jumped at the chance to try it."
Here's how they accomplished the Yolanda. "We put a partial wig over the back half of her hair to cover most of the length then combining in her real hair in the front, we then cut the hairpiece to blend with her shortest layers," he said. "The key is that your natural hairline is showing. The technique we used works if you have shorter layers that are the length that you want the hairpiece to match." Well, you certainly fooled us!
