The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kandi Burruss had a special someone by her side during her weekend in the City of Angels for the 2023 Grammy Awards. She brought along her daughter Riley Burruss for what had to be the ultimate mother-daughter trip to Los Angeles.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Peacock and the Bravo App.

Riley shared a few moments from a Grammy party held on Saturday, February 4, the night before the main Grammy event. Kandi’s Xscape groupmate Tamika Scott was also in attendance at the event, where all the ladies looked ultra-sophisticated in their black gowns. (Of course, you’ll soon see more of Kandi and Tamika on SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B. Check out a preview, above.)

Kandi also spent part of the weekend working and dazzling in a stunning blue gown. She was on hand at the actual 65th Grammy Awards, held on Sunday, February 5, where she was on the red carpet for an important gig.

“Let’s make the most out of the [Grammys] night!” she shared on Instagram. “You can catch me on the red carpet [Sunday] counting down to the Grammys on [E!]! And don’t miss the [Live From E!] After Party on [E!]. I’ll be there too! Music’s greatest night on TV!”

Riley also posted photos from the main event, captioning them, "iconic weekend with iconic people."

Not that we need to remind you, but Kandi isn’t exactly new when it comes to the Grammys. In fact, in 2000, she won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Song for co-writing TLC’s “No Scrubs.” The same year, in the same category (Best R&B Song), she was also nominated for co-writing Destiny’s Child’s “Bills, Bills, Bills.”

Also in 2000, Kandi became the first African American woman to take home the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers’ Songwriter of the Year award. NBD. As for her work with Xscape, the group has had six consecutive top 10 hits and three platinum albums over the course of their career.

You can see what the members of Xscape (and fellow iconic girl group SWV) are up to today when SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B premieres on Sunday, March 5, at 9:30/8:30c on Bravo.
