Has Kathryn C. Dennis Affected K. Cooper Ray's Relationship with Patricia Altschul?
The gent gives an update on his friendship with the #SouthernCharm matriarch.
Patricia Altschul's Flamingo Party was full of drama, but it looked like there was no bad blood between her and K. Cooper Ray after the two had a heart-to-heart about the status of their relationship earlier this season of Southern Charm.
However, Patricia still seemed to not be too pleased with Cooper's behavior in an interview during the episode. "I don't like confrontations, I don't like complications, and the fact that he wants to gossip about everybody," she said. "I mean, he's kind of a poor man's Truman Capote."
But Cooper said he actually wasn't completely bothered by that statement when he watched the episode back. "Well, I will say that the 'poor man's Truman Capote' was brilliant. Vintage Patricia, and I loved it," he told The Daily Dish. "I took exception to the fact that she said, 'He just wants to gossip,' because I don't gossip, and I shut it down."
As we've seen this season of Southern Charm, Cooper has gotten closer to Kathryn C. Dennis, and that has put his friendship with Patricia in jeopardy. "'We are not gonna associate with Kathryn Dennis, and if you do, we won't associate with you,'" Patricia told him, according to Cooper. "And I said, 'Respectfully, Patricia, I have no reason to not speak to Kathryn.'"
Cooper said his relationship with Patricia is "estranged" today. "Her estrangement toward me is due to Kathryn," Cooper said. "My estrangement toward her is because she insulted me this summer."
People have told Cooper that he should resolve his issues with Patricia for fear that he won't be invited to any more of her spectacular shindigs if he doesn't, but he said he doesn't share the same concern. "I've been to the gorgeous parties. I've thrown the gorgeous parties," he explained. "Maybe I'm just at that age where I'm gonna be who I am. I'm gonna be true. I'm not gonna be around anything that makes me feel uncomfortable or wrong."
Cooper said he's still waiting for an apology from Patricia, but he knows that they're really two peas in a pod. "Patricia and I are more alike than anybody on the cast," he said. "We share so much. We have very similar sets of friends in New York. We have a lot in common, and we are the most well-suited."
Ultimately, Cooper said he is hopeful that he and Patricia can get their relationship back on track. "Of course we'll have to be friends. We have too much in common," he said.
