Heather Dubrow Has Only One Worry About Moving Into the Dubrow Chateau
BTW, the #RHOC mom's new pad basically has it all.
Heather Dubrow's new home has something for everyone, especially the champagne-loving The Real Housewives of Orange County mom herself. She confirmed that her dream of adding a champagne doorbell to the posh pad has come true. And with a move-in date looking to be sometime next week, she'll be pressing it sooner rather than later.
"I got the champagne doorbell and it rings in the kitchen. It's in my closet," Heather told The Daily Dish. I have this three-way mirror. It's hidden, so when you pull the mirror forward, it's framed and it's black and white and has my intials on it, and it says, 'Press for champagne.' And my initials 'HD,' press that and it rings in the kitchen. Terry goes, 'Who's bringing you the champagne?' I'm like 'You? I don't know.'"
Heather has put a lot of thought into the details of the home (including having multiple ice machines with multiple types of ice to pick from), which is why she really wrestled with the idea of ever letting her family move in, she joked. "The hardest decision I had to make designing this home was whether or not I was going to let the family move in because it was so perfect. I'm not sure they can touch anything," she laughed. "No! I'm really kidding! You know what's really important to me? My mom's a designer, so when I was growing up my sister and I always talk about this — we weren't allowed to put a Post It on the wall. We weren't allowed to do anything. By the way, neither can mine. No! So I let the kids pick whatever they wanted. Started with colors, we worked on it together. This house is very user-friendly. I want them to live in this house, to enjoy this house. Nothing's so precious it can't be replaced. I want them to be careful, but live in the house."
The Dubrow Chateau marks the latest abode the family of six have called their own. And Heather hopes it will be their last. That is, if Terry Dubrow can restrain himself from packing up once again. "Is this the last house? Ask my husband," Heather said. "I know everyone thinks that it's me, that I need these big, fancy houses or whatever. This is all Terry's thing. They showed it on the show a few years ago, when he was like, 'I'm gonna work less and we're gonna buy this lot, and were gonna downsize.' And I'm like, 'Fabulous idea.' Then he worked more than ever and we built a bigger house. So I just don't know. For all I know we'll be on a houseboat next year. I just don't know."
For now, the family will have to settle on a home big enough to include the below movie theater.
