This Is Exactly How Heather Dubrow Feels About Turning 50
The RHOC alum gets real about this milestone moment.
Heather Dubrow recently up marked her 50th birthday with a makeup-free selfie and a little party, observing the big day by celebrating who she is at this stage in her life. Several months before she officially marked the big 5-0 on January 5, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum opened up to The Daily Dish about starting this next chapter of her life — and how she was feeling about this particular birthday.
"I'm worried that I'm maybe placing too much pressure on it because I'm supposed to, because it's this big number," she said, noting she wanted to perhaps keep the celebration low-key with "a big gift," or during a trip to France. She then shared, "Here's the problem with my birthday," with The Daily Dish: "My birthday's January 5 and it sucks because [by] January 5 everyone's broke, they're fat, they're over it, they're done partying. After New Year's, everyone wants a month to recover ... I don't know. I can't wrap my brain around it."
Heather then revealed this philosophy on aging gracefully: "I've never really been freaked out about a number because I feel like if you're in a good place in your life and you feel healthy and you're happy with where you are then it actually doesn't matter. I guess the only reason it's significant because it's like a big number that instead of being worried about we should do something celebratory to say, 'Hey, look how much you've accomplished in the first 50.'"
