Jackie Goldschneider Addresses How Much Money She Really Has
The New Jersey Housewife opened up about that bombshell about her secret fortune at the Season 10 reunion.
Season 10 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey may have been Jackie Goldschneider's second season on the show, but we feel like we learned even more about the mother of four this time around.
What seemed to drop all the jaws the most was the little (OK, huge) revelation that Jackie has "family money," which the ladies learned after she shared that her mom once paid $15,000 to buy an engagement ring from her then-boyfriend to prevent him from proposing (more on that in The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 10 After Show, above). The listing to rent Jackie's Westhampton home that she invited all of the RHONJ ladies to this season also tipped them off that she's got some dough.
During the RHONJ Season 10 reunion, host Andy Cohen read a question from a fan who wondered why Jackie kept her "big mountain of money" a secret from her friends for so long. "It's actually not that I kept it a secret," Jackie explained. "It's not what defines me, so I just didn't make it public."
Andy followed that up with another question from a fan who asked what Jennifer Aydin — and all of us — really want to know: "How much money do you actually have?"
Jackie replied, "I would never, ever say."
Jennifer then joked, "Be careful, Andy, it's very tacky to ask about people's money."
Jackie previously explained where her family money comes from during an interview with The Daily Dish podcast in January. "My parents were very smart about it. My father also did very well for himself and everything that they made together, they started investing," she said. "They invested in stocks, they invested in real estate, and they really did amazingly well for themselves."
She also clarified that she and her husband, Evan Goldschneider, do not live off her family money. When she has received money from her trust fund, Jackie has invested it in real estate, such as her Westhampton home and properties in Manhattan. She even runs a "small real estate management company."
Jackie shared why she doesn't flaunt a lavish lifestyle. "By the time my parents really started making money, I was already... almost 13 years old. I grew up in a little house in Staten Island. I was a scruffy kid; I didn't really have any money," Jackie told The Daily Dish podcast. "So the way I am, money to me is not what makes you an impressive person or an admirable person, so it's not something that you brag about. And I buy things; I do spend money, but I just don't flash it all over Instagram because I find it tacky."
