Andy Cohen Opens Up About His Love Life After Becoming a Dad
The Watch What Happens Live host shared his current relationship status while looking back on 2020.
Andy Cohen is getting real about dating as a dad.
While reflecting on his biggest personal and professional moments during the year that was 2020 in a recent interview with The New York Times, Andy talked about his love life, opening up about his experience of deciding to become a dad to son Ben while single. “The only thing that I knew was that he had to live in a home that was alive, and that there were people around,” Andy said, “and that I was going to need my friends and family to help me.”
Andy then added that he encountered challenges while dating even before he started a family. “I’m fairly set in my ways. There’s a lot of baggage that comes with me, whether you want to call it good baggage or bad baggage, it is baggage," the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host explained. "And add a child to that? That’s like, whoa.”
He recalled going on dates and excitedly showing off photos of Ben, “which I think wound up freaking people out?” “Yeah. You know, whatever. I’m still single," Andy confirmed. "What can I tell you, OK?”
Andy has been candid about his love life over the years, from dishing about his not-so-successful first dates after welcoming Ben in February 2019 to the dating apps you might find him on to even poking fun at his past relationship with ex-boyfriend and current radio co-host John Hill.
However, Andy seems perfectly content with the special guy in his life these days — his son, Ben, of course! Andy shared the most precious photo of him and Ben, who turns 2 in February, getting ready to ring in the new year on Instagram on December 31. "Snuggles before the big night!" Andy gushed in the post.
