Watch Out, James Corden! James Harris Is Coming for Your Late-Night Job
The #MDLLA agent reveals how his Late Late Show skit came to be AND if Tyga is really house hunting.
James Corden, the real estate agent may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of The Late Late Show host. But that certainly didn't stop him from trying to be one of the Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles brokers in a skit that aired on his late-night show this week. The premise was pretty simple: Corden filled in for David Parnes when partner James Harris goes to show Tyga a ritzy L.A. mansion. Once on the job, he pointed out some unusual features about the home to try the rapper interested, as you can see in the clip below.
The Daily Dish spoke to James Harris via email about the collaboration, which he says came about because both Corden and The Late Late Show executive producer Ben Winston are big fans of MDLLA. Get more insider details about the skit, Tyga's real estate musts, and Harris' plans for TV domination, below.
How jealous was David [that you worked with James on this showing]?
James Harris: Dave didn't get jealous. I think he was rather pleased to take a break and enjoy the day.
You and Tyga have worked together in the past. Did you just have to send him a text to get him on board?
Yes. Tyga is a good sport and is legitimately looking for a property. We were scheduled to look at houses that day so this perfectly coincided.
Tyga is pretty funny in the spoof. Is he funny like that in real life as well?
Yes 100%. He's extremely laid back and has a great sense of humor.
What moment left you in tears of laughter the most while shooting?
LITERALLY EVERYTHING!!!! I think James jumping in bed with Tyga was up there with the most awkward and funny. There were parts of the segment that didn't make the cut. You can only imagine WHY.
Was there something that didn’t make the cut that you wish had?
YES LOTS!!!! Far too inappropriate for national TV.
What is your favorite moment from what did make it to the final cut?
Finding James on the toilet was hysterical and watching my face when James was spinning the $70,000 crystal also cracked me up.
You’ve said that James shouldn’t quit his day job to work in real estate, but do you think you could host a late-night talk show?
Yes, 100%. I love the concept. I love people and making comedy. However, for now I'm very happy being in the booming real estate market.
How would you rate your own comedy skills?
I have to say pretty damn good. Trying not to uncontrollably laugh was difficult but I had to remember that Tyga is a client and we were showing a very expensive house.
The pair teamed up one more time on Tuesday to try and sell Los Angeles Clippers star JJ Redick a pad. Check out the hilarious results below.
