Jax Taylor on His Current Relationship with Estranged Mom: "It's a Touchy Subject"

As Jax Taylor approached the happiest day of his life, his wedding with Brittany Cartwright on June 29, he was unsure if he would be sharing this special day with one of his most cherished loved ones, his mother, Marie Cauchi. Jax and his mother had a falling out following father Ronald Cauchi's passing in December 2017, and they were still not on speaking terms as of the Vanderpump Rules Season 7 reunion, just a few weeks before his wedding.

Jax confirmed during his January 7 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that his mother was not there on his big day. "And you know what? She didn't even call me on my wedding day," he said in the above clip. "She hasn't reached out to me at all." 

He continued, "I'm sorry, I'm maybe a little stubborn, but I'm the son, and I just feel like — it's just a touchy subject."

Jax admitted that it was going to be difficult not having his parents at his wedding while speaking with PEOPLE prior to the ceremony. “It’s really, obviously bittersweet. My parents won’t be there. That’s just the hard part about it, but it’s obviously a big day in both of our lives," he said. "We’re both very, very excited. I’m very excited. We’re eager to get going.”

However, Jax's father was there in spirit. He paid tribute to his late loved one by leaving an empty seat with his dad's photo on it. According to PEOPLE, the wedding program also included the note, “We know you’d be here today if heaven wasn’t so far away," to honor Jax's father, as well as Brittany's late grandpa.
